Royal Bank of Canada's asset management arm, , has hired Nicole Vettise as institutional portfolio manager in its expanding London-based business development team. The appointment is the latest in a flurry of London hires the asset manager has made over the last year. The regional expansion began last January with a 10-man add to the global equity team. Vettise's newly created role will see her become capability specialist for RBC GAM’s emerging market equities team, as well as RBC GAM’s London-based expert for global natural resources. She previously spent 10 years at JP Morgan Asset Management, where she was executive director and lead client portfolio manager for the natural resources strategies and global thematic equity funds. “The significant expansion of our London office over the past year, as well as our growing range of investment solutions, positions us to deliver the geographical and asset class diversification institutions need amid a shifting global macro outlook,” said Clive Brown, RBC Global Asset Management's managing director and chief executive. The RBC Global Asset Management group manages more than $350 billion in assets globally.
