Nick Parmee
4 November 2008
Swiss wealth manager
Julius Baer has opened an investment advisory office in
Jakarta, to be called Julius Baer Advisors Indonesia. This will, the firm hopes, enable it to strengthen its links with local market participants and gather first-hand information about this market.
Thomas Meier, chief executive
Asia,
Middle East and
Eastern Europe, said: "The establishment of a presence in
Jakarta is an important element of our growth strategy, which continues to be supported by Julius Baer's sound capitalisation and balance sheet. "
Salina Nordin will head the
Jakarta office. She has more than 15 years of experience in the field of finance, capital market and wealth advisory in
Indonesia as well as an extensive knowledge of the region.
The office will operate under an investment advisory licence awarded by the Indonesia Capital Market and Financial Institution Supervisory Agency.
