Changes at the Top at Dexia Private Bank (Suisse)

1 October 2008

Jean Louis Platteau has left Dexia Private Bank (Suisse) after less than eight months in the role of chief executive for Switzerland, WealthBriefing has learnt. Mr Platteau replaced Francis Coulon, who had held the position for a number of years, in January of this year. Sources close to the bank suggested at the time that Mr Coulon left over a disagreement with the parent company over the strategic direction of the business.

Unsurprisingly, no one at Dexia was prepared to comment about the reasons for Mr Platteau’s abrupt departure. It is understood that he is remaining in Geneva and has found a new position with another bank.

Mr Platteau was replaced by Eddy Vanden Berg effective 26 August. Mr Vanden Berg will soon be moving to Geneva to undertake his new role, having been with the group for 32 years in a variety of European locations. For the last eight years he has been based in Switzerland holding positions with the bank in Basel and Zurich.
