LPL Financial, America’s largest independent broker dealer, tapped ABN Amro for its new chief financial officer.

The Boston-based brokerage business that manages $275 billion in assets hired former ABN Amro executive Robert Moore to replace Bill Maher, the firm’s current CFO.

Mr Moore was in charge of ABN’s former North America business unit LaSalle Bank before it was acquired by Charlotte-based Bank of America last year.

Press reports suggested Mr Maher was leaving the firm to “pursue other opportunities”.
