New Financial Controller at Barclays Wealth in Glasgow

Barclays Wealth has appointed David Currie to the post of financial controller, managing the firm's financial control team, based in Glasgow. The appointment has been made to support the ongoing expansion of the company’s investment operations arm in the city.

Mr Currie joins from National Australia Group, where he was head of reporting.

The expansion of Barclays Wealth in Glasgow has seen the recruitment of over 600 new members since the beginning of 2007, across its technology, HR, finance and operations divisions. The company, which received a government grant to help the growth of the business, is likely to exceed the number of jobs it committed to Glasgow by the end of 2009.

Barclays Wealth is one of the top ten biggest employers in Glasgow.
