She joins from Mellon Private Wealth in the US. In Ms McCarthy’s previous role as the regional president for Mellon Private Wealth in New York, she was responsible for all aspects of business including managing portfolios, sales and support staff. Before that, she held a number of senior management roles with US Trust and The Bank of New York.

As regional sales director, she will be responsible for the bancassurance and wealth planning advisory businesses of Lloyds TSB Wealth Management in central England.

The appointment comes at a time when a number of private banks have been expanding into the UK regions, including the Midlands, to tap into recent growth in the number of high net worth individuals.
