Barclays Acquires Trust Business

Barclays Private Bank has bought the trust and private banking business of Canada’s Scotiabank in the Channel Islands for an undisclosed sum. The Canadian bank's 40 staff on the island will all join Barclays. The deal reflects Barclays' ambitions to grow and “beef up our private banking offering” in the Channel Islands, an official said
