Canadian Asset Manager Bags Two Investment Strategists

Toronto-based Sprott Asset Management has tapped AGF Funds to hire two investment strategists. Charles Oliver was formerly the senior vice-president and portfolio manager at AGF Funds. He managed the AGF Canadian Small Cap Fund and co-managed the AGF Global Resources Fund, AGF Canadian Resources Fund, AGF Precious Metals Fund and the AGF Canadian Growth Equity Fund. Mr Oliver will join SAM as of 31 January 2008 and will work together with John Embry, chief investment strategist, and Eric Sprott, chief executive. Jamie Horvat was formerly co-manager of the AGF Precious Metals Fund and lead advisor to the Oil Sands Sector Fund. SAM has over $6 billion in assets under management primarily for institutions, endowments and high net worth individuals. It is the investment manager of the Sprott Funds.
