4 December 2007

Jacqui Brabazon is to return to American Express Private Bank after leaving at the beginning of November, according to market sources. A spokesperson for the private bank would not comment. Ms Brabazon, who had spent almost 10 years at Amex, in a variety of roles, most recently as head of Marketing and Talent Development had announced her intention to join SG Hambros, part of SG Private Banking, as deputy commercial director. Amex Bank is currently going through a global merger process with Standard Chartered. Prior to her time at Amex, Ms Brabazon spent 11 years at Kleinwort Benson Private Bank as head of Client Management. WealthBriefing understands that Ms Brabazon will be returning to her previous role at Amex, and her change of heart will be seen by the market as a ringing endorsement of the potential of the merged business. At SG Hambros Ms Brabazon was to have had specific responsibility for continuing to develop the UK Private Banking business under Phil McIlwraith, newly appointed group commercial director.
