BoNY Mellon Wealth Management Appoints Head of Banking

The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation has appointed Bill Sappington as heading of national banking for BNY Mellon Wealth Management. He will be based in New York City and report to David Lamere, chief executive officer. In this newly created role, Mr Sappington will lead the expansion and implementation and delivery of banking services to private clients. He has more than 25 years of experience in private banking and lending. He joins BNY Mellon Wealth Management from Bear Stearns, where he was the head of credit and lending for the private client services group. Prior to that, he was with Merrill Lynch as the head of global securities-based lending with the firm's global banking group.
