Smith & Williamson Snap Up Former JP Morgan Man

Smith & Williamson has hired John Anderson from JP Morgan Asset Management.

Smith & Williamson has hired John Anderson - previously of JP Morgan Asset Management.

Anderson will start on July 23 and is responsible for the firm’s Fixed Interest Trust.

He spent two years at JPMorgan running its Sterling Corporate Bond fund before leaving last year. Before that he was head of credit at Gartmore between 2009 and 2011.

“Their Short Dated Corporate Bond Fund is one of the first of its kind and its success is a reflection of the team’s ability to manage fixed income assets in a conservative fashion,” said Anderson.

“Managing the Fixed Interest Trust is a great opportunity for me to help them grow the fixed income franchise.”

Earlier this week the firm appointed a new head of distribution for its pooled funds and direct fund management business.

Mickey Morrissey, who is a partner of the firm, takes over from Nick Hodgson, who has moved to become head of marketing for the company.
