International Credit Specialist Launches New Fund

The global credit specialist firm Muzinich & Co. has launched a new fund looking to invest in credit across global public fixed income markets.

The global credit specialist firm Muzinich & Co. has launched a new fund looking to invest in credit across global public fixed income markets.

The Global Tactical Credit Fund will assess relative value across rating, duration and geographic spectrums, and use a fundamental bottom-up analysis of investment grade and high yield corporate bonds and corporate loans.

The fund’s lead manager, Mike McEachern, may also use portfolio hedging techniques to help reduce short-term volatility during periods of rising interest rates or spread widening, the firm said in a statement, adding that the fund targets a return of Libor plus 5-7 per cent.

“Demand for this type of strategy has been growing throughout the year and we believe multi-asset credit solutions will play an increasingly integral part in fixed income portfolios moving forward,” said Joshua Hughes, Muzinich & Co. head of UK sales and marketing.

The UCITS fund is domiciled in Ireland and has range of sterling, dollar and euro share classes available.

Muzinich & Co. is a global institutional asset manager with offices in New York, London, Cologne and Paris. The firm currently manages over $25 billion in assets as of 30 September, 2013.
