UK-listed wealth management house Brewin Dolphin is
closing its Stoke office and making four support roles redundant in a move that
will see the remaining staff transferred to its Manchester branch.

Eight
executives from the Stoke office will be transferring to Manchester and one executive has been put on six
months’ gardening leave, Brewin Dolphin said in a statement.

Brewin
said the office would officially close on 31 October and that it anticipated no
further closures.

The firm added that all members of staff have been offered the opportunity to apply for
roles in Manchester
and elsewhere in the group.

"While we
recognise this is a sad day for Stoke, we are continually reviewing how we
conduct business to ensure that our clients receive the best possible service. We
are confident that all our clients will be very well served from our Manchester office, which
does have better resources," said Richard Platt, Midlands North regional director
for Brewin Dolphin.

"We
will continue to see our clients locally in North Staffordshire and South Cheshire, where we all continue to live and we have
every intention of continuing to grow our important and highly valued business
in the area," Platt added.

The
closure follows after a number of mergers and consolidations made by the firm
this year.

In
September, Brewin Dolphin closed its Inverness branch and moved its business to
its Aberdeen
office. The Teeside branch was also merged into the Newcastle
one and the Hereford branch was merged into Cheltenham. In addition, the Swansea office merged into the Cardiff one in July.

Earlier this year, the firm restructured its management, which saw a
number of board members step down, including executive chairman Jamie Matheson.
