EFG Private Bank has been re-branded to EFG Bank. In a statement on the move, the bank said: “Today, as a truly global player in private banking, our new, shorter name - EFG Bank - will more accurately reflect our broad spectrum of activity and help us strengthen our position as a brand.”

Meanwhile, the London-based part of the private bank, has bought the independent wealth management firm Planning For Financial Independent.

PFFI was founded in the early 1990s by Allan Duggin, a qualified actuary. PFFI specialises in providing independent fee-based advice to wealthy individuals and their families, with the majority of clients based in London and the south east of England. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
