Bob Doll, who left his post as BlackRock's chief equity strategist in June, has joined Chicago-based Nuveen Asset Management as chief equity strategist and senior portfolio manager.

Doll was latterly BlackRock's chief equity strategist for fundamental equities. He also served as head of the US large-cap equity team, with primary portfolio management responsibility for those strategies.

Prior to his 34-year tenure at BlackRock, Doll worked at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers as president/chief investment officer and senior portfolio manager of the Merrill Lynch Large Cap Series funds.

According to a statement, in his new role Doll reports to Nuveen Asset Management's head of equities, David Chalupnik.

As previously reported, Doll remains at BlackRock in an advisory capacity throughout the remainder of 2012.

Nuveen Asset Management is part of Nuveen Investments and has over $117 billion in assets under management as at end-September. The asset management firm offers a range of investment strategies - from traditional and specialized equity to taxable municipal fixed income.
