Oppenheimer Asia Names A New CEO

Oppenheimer Investments Asia has appointed a new chief executive.

Robin Green takes the lead position at the broker-dealer, along with the designation of president. Based in Hong Kong, Green will be responsible for spearheading the firm's Asia expansion strategy, which will include the hiring of additional fixed income and equity teams and supporting its investment banking business in Beijing, the firm said.

Green joins Oppenheimer from MF Global, the brokerage firm that filed for bankruptcy in October 2011 due to the European debt crisis, where he served as head of Asian institutional equity sales for the Hong Kong branch. He has also worked as CEO of ITG Hong Kong.

At his new position, he replaces Steve Bernstein who resigned in December 2011 after two years with the company.

Oppenheimer Investments Asia is a division of Oppenheimer & Co and provides wealth management, securities brokerage and investment banking services to high net worth individuals, families, local governments and institutions.
