New Arrivals At The Top Of UK Private Bank

Adam & Co, part of Royal Bank of Scotland, has unveiled a number of top-level appointments as the firm builds on changes announced last year.

Adam & Company, the Scottish-based private bank that is part of Royal Bank of Scotland, has made a series of senior management changes, including the appointment of a new investment chief.

Graham Storrie has been appointed as CEO of Adam Investment Management, and will take on this new role in addition to his existing post as managing director for Adam & Co, effective from yesterday. He has worked for organisations such as Standard Life, where he was managing director for Wealth Management UK, before rejoining RBS in 2004.

Ian Ewart, who is head of products, services and marketing for RBS’s wealth division, has been appointed to the board of Adam & Co, encompassing Adam & Company and AIM.  Ewart joined the firm in 2011, having previously worked at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he held the position of head of international marketing. He has also held a number of senior marketing positions, notably at Barclays Wealth and HSBC.

The Scottish bank – sister firm to Coutts & Co – will hope that the senior appointments will build on a number of moves over the past year after having seen some departures in 2010. In January, 2011, this publication reported that Stuart Dickson, formerly of Glasgow-based firm Ignis, was continuing in that city with Adam & Co as an investment director; Ken Wilson joined the Glasgow team as a senior investment manager. The bank’s Edinburgh investment team appointed Anna Croze as a senior investment manager.

Among other moves announced yesterday, AIM named Dickson Anderson as head of Adam Investments. He will take responsibility for managing the discretionary portfolio management business on a day-to-day basis.

Anderson has led several investment management operations across the UK and Europe as managing director for Europe at Franklin Templeton.

Adam & Co has over £1.3 billion (around $2 billion) of private client funds under management.
