UK Private Bank Moves To Larger Offices In Edinburgh

Brown Shipley has moved into larger offices in Edinburgh to house its growing team in the Scottish capital – a move it has been looking to make since its acquisition of the investment management arm of law firm Gillespie Macandrew in December.

Some £250 million ($392 million) of clients' assets will be run from the new office on Multrees Walk.

The private bank has been busily expanding across the UK in recent years, moving into larger premises in both Birmingham and Manchester in the last 18 months.

Brown Shipley has also made two high-profile appointments so far this year: last month it hired former Kleinwort Benson senior manager Derrick Cain as head of compliance, risk and legal. The firm also named Julian Hardiman as head of private banking in its Manchester office – a newly-created role in which he is responsible for the northwestern region of the UK.

In addition to London, Birmingham, Manchester and Edinburgh, Brown Shipley also has an office in Leeds.
