Citi Private Bank has strengthened its Phoenix, AZ private banking office with three key appointments.
Michelle DeJean Schechner is set to step in as managing director and private banker, effective in November. Schechner was most recently a senior vice president and private client advisor at US Trust's Phoenix branch. In that role she and her team worked with ultra high net worth clients and their families on investments, estate planning and philanthropic giving.
Also newly hired at Citi is Christopher Klecka as director and private banker. Like Schechner, Klecka joins from US Trust where he was a senior vice president and private client manager. Prior to that, he was a vice president and portfolio officer at Banc of America Strategic Solutions and senior examiner at Bank of America Business Capital.
Rounding up the trio is Jessie Hall, who joins as vice president and banker associate. Hall was previously a vice president and private client manager at Bank of America. Before that, she held various roles in the bank's credit card division and sales offices.
Klecka and Hall take up their new positions this month. All three will report to Hale Behzadi, the head of Southern California and Arizona for Citi Private Bank.
"Phoenix is an important market for our firm, as it is home to many of our ultra high net worth clients and their families. We want to continue serving them at the highest level while growing our business there," said Behzadi.
September has been a busy month for Citi as it continues to bolster its private banking operations both in the US and worldwide. Just recently, the bank brought in fashion guru Ida Liu to lead its newly-created North America Asia clients group. Shortly before that, Citi hired Daniel Batista as managing director and UHNW banker for its New Jersey office and Robert Laughlin as managing director and head of Citi Trust for North America.
