Sphinx Asia Wealth Management, the Taiwan-based wealth firm, is organising a two-day conference on Islamic Wealth Management in September in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The conference is meant to explore key principles and opportunities for the Islamic wealth management industry, including wealth creation, accumulation, protection, distribution, and purification, the company said in a statement. The event's focus will be on Islamic funds management and investment, sukuk, tax planning for individuals, risk management, and takaful or wealth protection.
The company has been steadily increasing its advisory focus in the area of Islamic finance, stock brokerage, wealth management and professional advisor development and motivation towards the Islamic customer.
Islamic finance is getting more traction with Asian banks. Bank Negara, the central bank, recently announced that it is planning to create a multinational bank that centres on shariah-led finance. The new lending entity, a joint effort between Asia and the Middle East, will be introduced in October this year and will have a market capitalisation of $1 billion.
