The London-based fund manager RWC Partners has appointed Susanne Sorge – formerly of GLG Partners – to spearhead its growth in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Sorge, who will join the firm at the end of this month, spent four years at GLG, where she was also responsible for business development in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

In her new role Sorge will report to Dan Mannix, head of business development.

RWC Partners has been present in Germany, Austria and Switzerland for the past four years and has said it has seen “significant” inflows in Germany and Zurich into its UCITS III funds.

The firm has recently been ramping up its fund manager roster and this month Peter Allwright and Stuart Frost will join RWC from Threadneedle to launch macro absolute return funds investing in the rates and currency markets.

RWC was founded in 2000 and now has seven investment teams. Schroders holds a 49 per cent stake in the firm, with the remainder of its equity owned by portfolio managers, directors and other employees.
