Citi Private Bank has recently named Kurt Muller as director and investment counselor based in Short Hills, New Jersey.

Muller has nearly 20 years of experience in the financial services industry and was most recently a director at Merrill Lynch & Co's managed solutions group. Prior to that, he served as vice president of wealth management at AXA subsidiary Advest Inc.

In his new position, he will focus on finding ways to bring the bank's investment products closer to target ultra high net worth clients in the area. He reports directly to Michael Persinski, the eastern region head of investments.

The appointment is the latest among the series of wealth management hires by the bank across the US over the past weeks, as it seeks to obtain a larger share of the region's HNW client base. This complements Citi's global franchise, where it currently holds 200 million customer accounts across 140 countries.
