Duff & Phelps expands Japanese valuation practice

U.S.-based firm hires team formerly affiliated with PricewaterhouseCoopers. Valuations firm Duff & Phelps has hired Masafumi Takeno and his five-member team to bolster its Japanese valuation-advisory practice.


Exchange-ratio determinations


Takeno comes to Duff & Phelps from Misuzu Financial Advisors -- formerly part of the PricewaterhouseCoopers -- where he was head of corporate-finance advisory. He worked mainly in the areas of business valuation, exchange-ratio determinations, transaction structuring, solvency calculations, and the valuation of goodwill, stock options, and preferred shares.

Takeno's team members are Masakuni Inoue, Masahiro Amazutsumi, Yutaka Harada, Katsumi Asai and Seiya Aizawa. New York-based Duff & Phelps provides financial advisory and investment banking services. Fredrick Bird is director of its Tokyo office. -FWR
