The latest moves in wealth management across Europe and the UK.

The Financial Conduct Authority
The Financial Conduct Authority has appointed Kate Collyer as its chief economist. Collyer is moving inside the organisation from her current post as chief economist for energy and market frameworks and as joint-director of analysis at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). In the new post, she will also advise the FCA’s executive committee and board.

She was previously deputy chief economic adviser at the Competition and Markets Authority, and before that director of economics, market and mergers at the CMA.

Christopher Woolard, executive director of strategy and competition at the FCA, said she will play a vital role at the UK regulator “further embedding the use of economic analysis in our decision making and assessing how well the interventions we make are working.”

As well as overseeing the FCA’s economic research and analysis, Collyer will jointly head the wider competition and economics division.

London & Capital
Independent asset manager London & Capital has appointed Simon Reed as executive director in its private investment office based in London, where he will report to private office head Iain Tait.

Reed has been recruited to help grow the private investment office business, launched by the firm in 2013 to provide family office style services to UHNW clients. The firm said Reed brings specialist expertise in offshore trusts and fiduciaries.

He joins from Enhance Investment Consultancy where he was a director. His prior career includes private finance roles at Cazenove Capital Management and Santander, and he spent seven years as a solicitor in private practice and industry, specialising in company, commercial and real estate law.
