The latest moves in wealth management across the UK, Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Jupiter Asset Management
Jupiter Asset Management has appointed Talib Sheikh as head of strategy, multi-asset, effective June 2018. This is a newly-created role based in London.

He will report directly to chief investment officer, Stephen Pearson. He will be working closely with a team of professionals in the asset class including fund managers Lee Manzi and Rhys Petheram.

Sheikh joins from JP Morgan Asset Management, where as a managing director and portfolio manager he has worked nearly 20 years.

Brooks Macdonald
UK-based investment manager Brooks Macdonald has appointed Ben Thorpe as group finance director, effective 20 August, subject to regulatory approvals.

Thorpe has 18 years’ experience in financial services, most recently as head of finance at Brewin Dolphin, where he was responsible for group financial planning and analysis, financial control, tax and treasury. He has also held senior finance positions at Standard Bank and Barclays Capital, having worked for Royal Bank of Scotland and Morgan Stanley earlier in his career. 

UK law firm Shoosmiths has appointed Angela Bowman, to its trusts and probate operation. She will be based at the firm’s Thames Valley office. 

A partner with her previous firm, Freeths (formerly Henmans), Bowman will head up Shoosmiths’ specialist contentious trusts and probate team in the South of England.
