The new head of its multi-asset solutions will start his role on 1 July 2017.

Swiss-based Vontobel Asset Management has appointed Gregor Hirt as head of multi-asset solutions.

Hirt will join on 1 July 2017 and will also become a voting member of the investment committee, the firm said in a statement.

He joins from UBS Global Asset Management, where he started as chief investment office in 2014 and became global chief strategist multi-asset in 2016.

“Gregor has a distinguished career in multi-asset investing, having won several Morningstar and Lipper awards for the funds he managed,” said Christophe Bernard, head of multi-asset boutique. He added: “His deep knowledge of our strategic markets for multi asset, namely Switzerland, Germany and Italy, and his experience will be instrumental in helping us further shape a first-class multi-asset product shelf for our clients.”
