The multi-family office, headquartered in the UK, has brought in a former MD from the Canadian bank as a consultant and US board member.
Stonehage Fleming has recruited former Royal Bank of Canada Wealth Management vice president and managing director Mike Moodie as a consultant and US board member. His role is a newly-created one, the firm confirmed to this news service.
Moodie joined RBC in 1985 and has since held an array of senior leadership positions based in Canada, the Caribbean, US and the UK, where he was responsible for leading integrated wealth management businesses focused on high and ultra-high net worth clients.
He spent seven years leading the expansion of RBC's international wealth management office across the US as head of the Americas. In 2010, he relocated to London to head up the firm's UK wealth management team and remained there until he later retired in 2015.
In his new role, Moodie will be based in Toronto and will report to Mark McMullen, chief executive of family office at Stonehage Fleming.
“Mike’s appointment demonstrates our commitment to further enhancing and expanding the geographic reach of our service offering as we strive to lead the industry as a truly international family office,” said McMullen.
Last month, this publication exclusively reported Stonehage Fleming's acquisition of London-based FF&P Wealth Planning. The business now sits alongside Stonehage Fleming’s UHNW client services under the new name Stonehage Fleming Wealth Planning.
