Brooks Macdonald Names New Investment Director
The UK investment manager has expanded its bespoke portfolio service team.
Brooks Macdonald has appointed Ben Mackie as an investment director within its Taunton office.
Mackie joins from Charles Stanley, where he was a portfolio manager. In addition to managing private client portfolios, he was part of the company’s investment strategy committee and structured product team. He previously worked at Barclays Wealth and Butterfield Private Bank.
In the newly-created role, he will be responsible for managing discretionary portfolios, while also helping to enhance Brooks Macdonald’s professional advisor network in and around the South West of England and Wales.
“His considerable investment experience and desire to work closely with professional advisers will provide an important addition to our team as more and more professional advisers decide to outsource investment management responsibilities to specialists like Brooks Macdonald,” said Nicholas Skelhorn, senior investment director and head of the Taunton office.
London-listed Brooks Macdonald had discretionary funds under management of £8.3 billion ($10.8 billion) as at 30 June 2016.
