Quilter Cheviot Expands Welsh Team

Quilter Cheviot, part of the UK's Old Mutual Wealth, has made a senior hire from Coutts & Co in response to a surge in demand for investment services.

Discretionary investment manager Quilter Cheviot has appointed Bronia Widdows to its office in Llandudno Junction, North Wales.

Widdows has around 30 years’ industry experience. She joins from Coutts & Co, where she was an associate director. Her previous responsibilities include investment planning, financial advice, discretionary portfolio management, inheritance tax planning, trusts, wills and estate. She is also authorised to provide investment advice to charities.

“Our expansion in North Wales is a direct response to a growing client portfolio and significant demand for our services,” said Richard Thorn, Quilter Cheviot's head of regional offices.

“Being local to North Wales, Bronia has a natural understanding of the region. Her lengthy experience has seen her deal with the market in all sorts of conditions, making her an excellent addition to the North Wales team.”

Quilter Cheviot manages discretionary portfolios for private clients, charities, trusts and pension funds. The firm, which operates from 12 locations across the UK, Jersey and Ireland, had funds under management of £18 billon ($24 billion) as at 31 March 2016. Earlier this year, it received regulatory approval to open an office in Dubai.
