Sanlam's Former UK Chief Executive To Advise Firm On Development, M&A

Sanlam, the wealth management firm, will see the formal departure of its former UK chief executive, Lukas van der Walt, on 29 February. He will become a strategic consultant to the group, advising it on development, mergers and acquisitions. 

Jonathan Polin assumed the role of CEO of Sanlam UK on the 1 January.

During his 12-month tenure, van der Walt orchestrated the purchase and subsequent development of Merchant Investors Assurance in 2004 as well as Buckles, English Mutual and FOUR Capital Partners. He was responsible for Sanlam’s investments and partnering initiatives with Nucleus, Intrinsic and Punter Southall Group. (Shareholdings in Punter Southall Group and Intrinsic were sold in 2013 and 2014 respectively.)
