RBC Dexia Investor Services has strengthened its European operations with the appointment of Sébastien Danloy as managing director for Luxembourg, effective 2 May 2011, subject to regulatory approval.
Danloy was latterly global head of sales and relationship management for Société Générale Securities Services, a role in which his responsibilities entailed implementing sales strategy across all countries and business lines.
He has also served as global sales manager for the UK and head of business development for the Middle East at BNP Paribas Securities Services.
In his new role, Danloy will be responsible for building the business by focusing on market strategy, strategic client management and effective engagement with local industry, government and regulatory bodies. He reports to Tony Johnson, global head of sales and distribution.
The employment of Danloy is part of RBC Dexia’s “goal of maximising growth across our European footprint,” the firm said in a statement.
“Our Luxembourg operations are central to the promotion of our onshore/offshore strategy,” said José Placido, chief executive of RBC Dexia Investor Services.
In other news, in November last year, the firm launched a passive foreign exchange hedging service aiming to protect clients’ investments against currency translation risk.
