Newly-Formed Javelin Capital Makes Fund Debut With Long/Short Vehicle
Javelin Capital, a recently established UK investment firm, has rolled out its debut fund that is designed to be able to take bullish and bearish bets on equities globally.
The fund is called the Javelin Capital Global Equity Strategies Fund. It was launched last Friday with seed capital of $31 million. The fund will take long and short positions in equities including those of emerging markets. The fund is headed by Javelin’s chief investment officer Victor Pina.
The fund aims to employ a range of long-short equity strategies which include fundamental, systematic and tactical approaches. These strategies will be used depending on conditions of the time.
Earlier in September, Javelin was launched by its UK-listed parent, Majedie Investments. Majedie holds an initial 70 per stake in the business with the remainder held by partners and staff.
