Invesco Perpetual will launch a new fund next week investing globally in capital securities and equities of banks and other financial institutions, as well as in cash.

The new fund, Invesco Perpetual Global Financial Capital, will be managed by the company’s chief investment officer Nick Mustoe and co-heads of fixed interest Paul Causer and Paul Read.

The sterling-denominated fund will concentrate on what Invesco describes as “tremendous investment opportunities across the financials sector as it undergoes a long-term process of structural reform and rehabilitation”.

“The yield prospects of this multi-trillion dollar market are extremely compelling and at values not seen since 2008/2009, despite the considerable progress the sector has made since then,” said Ian Trevers, head of distribution at Invesco Perpetual.
