Fund Research Head Exits Charles Stanley Amid Restructure

The UK wealth manager revealed the restructure has led to seven new roles being created and seven being "put at risk".

Charles Stanley's head of open-ended fund research, Shauna Bevan, has left the firm amid a restructure of the investment division.

Bevan, based in London, joined the firm in 2003 as head of the open-ended fund research desk, having previously spent four years working in the investment management arm of Merrill Lynch.

The departure comes weeks after that of Stephen Peters, co-head of collectives research and co-fund manager of the Charles Stanley Collectives Portfolio Service. After almost 10 years with Charles Stanley, he left the firm for a role at Barclays Wealth & Investment Management and has been replaced by Ross Brookes.

Meanwhile, Jane Bransgrove has been appointed head of portfolio management, while Peter Thorne will serve as a financials analyst.

The restructure has brought together four of the firm’s asset management businesses: Pan Asset, CPS, Matterley and IHT. Research teams were subsequently shifted to the asset management division for better coordination across asset classes, the firm said.

“This recent second phase took place only after the asset management division's suite of products and services had been finalised,” said a spokesperson for Charles Stanley. “The resulting reorganisation led to seven new roles being created and seven roles being put at risk. Three of those at risk - including Shauna Bevan - have decided not to apply for new roles and to leave the firm and we are well-advanced in seeking replacements both internally and externally.”
