Credit Suisse Names Delhi Head

Credit Suisse has announced the appointment of Aditya Mishra as head of its Delhi office effective immediately.

Mishra was previously a managing partner at AM Advisors. Prior to that, he held various senior roles at Dresdner Bank and ABN Amro Singapore.

His new responsibilities include focussing on serving high net worth individuals, families and corporations in Delhi, majority of whom are seeking more sophisticated asset allocation approaches and a more global platform for specialised financial products, the Swiss bank said in a statement. Mishar will be based in Delhi and will report to Puneet Matta, the head of wealth management at Credit Suisse India.

The appointment comes shortly after the Reserve Bank of India gave an in-principle approval for Credit Suisse to set up its first bank branch in the country, as reported by WealthBriefing Asia.

In the latest Global Development Finance Report by the World Bank, India was forecast to overtake China as the fastest growing economy in the world this year, with an estimated 8 per cent rise in 2010, compared to China's 7.7 per cent projection.
