Barclays compliance veteran goes to UBS

Natasha Meaney, formerly a compliance head at Barclays, has moved to the London offices of Zurich-headquartered UBS.

An internal UBS memo from from James Oates, the global head of compliance and operational risk control or C&ORC, says that Ms Meaney is to replace Lisa Field, who has moved to group investigations. It goes on to say that Ms Meaney is now C&ORC's chief administrative officer and a member of its management committee.

In this capacity, she is expected to play a vital part in helping Oates set UBS's longer-term strategy and 'key initiatives.' She is also responsible for running the bank's governance, business management and reporting processes and teams.

She used to work as a compliance officer in the investment banking division of Barclays (for its non-core and treasury areas) until last year. The memo adds: "Natasha has had a distinguished 17-year career building, strengthening and leading global compliance organisations for multinational banking and financial services firms."
