The latest moves, appointments and personnel changes among wealth management and related organisations in the UK, the rest of Europe, the Middle East, Africa and select international locations.
Cazenove Capital
Cazenove
Capital, the wealth management arm of Schroders in the
UK, has appointed Dominic Brentnall (pictured) as portfolio
director in Birmingham.
Brentnall, who has worked at Santander, Barclays Wealth Management, and most recently Swiss private bank UBS, brings over 14 years’ experience. He has also been the chairman of the Personal Finance Society for the Birmingham region, the firm said in a statement.
This newly-created role reinforces Cazenove Capital's aim to bolster its service for its expanding community of entrepreneurs and business owners in Birmingham. His appointment is the latest development in Cazenove Capital’s regional growth strategy.
The firm recently hired Paul Andrew as wealth planning director for the North of England, based in the Manchester office, and Sandra Dailidyte as portfolio manager in Edinburgh.
“Dominic brings a wealth of local experience to the team and a skill set in keeping with the growth areas of our business. I’m looking forward to the year ahead with another great hire for the Cazenove Capital Midlands business,” Dave Price, regional head of Birmingham at Cazenove Capital, said.
ARK Invest
ARK Invest, a
Florida-headquartered investment management firm specialising in
exchange-traded funds (ETFs), has just appointed Carl Henrik
Hagerup as head of Northern European sales, based in London.
Hagerup has served in several high-profile roles in the European ETF industry, most recently as managing director and head of Netherlands and Nordics at 21Shares. Prior to that, he led the institutional and wholesale client coverage across the Nordic region for State Street Global Advisors. Previously, Hagerup held key positions at Intercontinental Exchange and Bloomberg.
In his new role, Hagerup will report directly to Stuart Forbes, head of ARK Invest in Europe, the firm said in a statement.
"Since ARK Invest’s entry into the European market, we have been one of the few thematic ETF providers to bring in net new assets over the period, a testament to the dedicated thematic investment and sustainability expertise we have in our global team,” Forbes said. “Carl’s hire is significant in taking our European footprint to the next level. His long-term experience in forging deep relationships across the region will be critical to our European growth plans and bringing our disruptive innovation and sustainability and impact investment solutions to a wider audience.”
Kohlberg Kravis Roberts
Kohlberg
Kravis Roberts, aka KKR, has hired Derya Kara from
Wellington Management as its co-head of global wealth
solutions in Switzerland, this publication can confirm.
Media reports said that Kara will work with Tomislav Culic, who
joined the firm as a director to lead KKR’s global wealth
solutions team in Switzerland last year.
Culic was previously HSBC’s head of alternative investments EMEA
for private banking and wealth in Geneva.
Reports said that Kara was previously head of wealth in
Switzerland for Wellington and before this, she worked at
Aberdeen Asset Management and Credit Suisse. She will be based in
Zurich.
KKR has also appointed a principal in Zurich. Mattia
Castrovillari joined the global wealth solutions team earlier in
2024, having previously worked at Partners Group, where he was in
the private wealth team. Before that he worked as a private
market specialist at UBS.
Private equity firms such as KKR and Blackstone have been
building out wealth management offerings to connect with family
offices, ultra-high net worth individuals and other
non-institutional sources of capital.
