Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? - The Fry Group, FCA

The latest moves in wealth management across Europe and the Middle East.

The Fry Group
The Fry Group, which specialises in serving UK nationals around the world, has appointed Gary Jennison as it non-executive chairman. Jennison will lead the board on delivering “the company's long-term direction,” and Jeremy Woodley, group CEO, will continue to “set strategy and provide day-to-day management,” the firm said.

Jennison is non-executive chairman at Lantern Debt Recovery Services and Orchard Funding Group, and non-executive director at Admiral Financial Services.  Prior to these non-executive roles, the industry veteran was European CEO at The Warranty Group, deputy CEO at Together Money, chief executive at Payzone UK and Secure Trust Bank, and MD of Barclays’ branch network in the UK.

Financial Conduct Authority
The Financial Conduct Authority, the UK regulator, has appointed Baroness Zahida Manzoor CBE as chair of the Financial Ombudsman Service. The appointment was made by the FCA Board with the approval of HM Treasury. Baroness Manzoor will take up the role on 2 August 2019, succeeding Sir Nicholas Montagu who is stepping down after more than seven years in post.

Baroness Manzoor was appointed to the House of Lords in 2013, where she served as House of Lords Government Whip and Minister between March 2018 and May 2019. Before joining the Lords, Baroness Manzoor spent over 20 years at board level within large organisations.

She served as The Legal Services Ombudsman for England and Wales and The Legal Services Complaints Commissioner. While a member of the NHS’ policy board, Baroness Manzoor was one of eight regional chairs overseeing the NHS’ operations and was involved in leading significant transformation programmes.
