Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? - Payne Hicks Beach, Tritax, Others
The latest senior executive moves in wealth management for the Europe, Middle East and Africa regions.
London-based law firm, Payne Hicks
Beach, has made four promotions – two partners and two
associates – in the firm’s dispute resolution, family and risk
and compliance departments.
Scott Goldstein and Jonathan Sewell have been made partners in
the dispute resolution and risk and compliance departments
respectively. Nick Grant and Katie Parkes have been promoted to
associate level.
Goldstein, a property litigation specialist, has more than 17
years’ experience in the high net worth residential and
commercial property arena, with a particular interest in landlord
and tenant work. His practice spans a breadth of matters from
service charge and boundary disputes to leasehold enfranchisement
claims. Goldstein has built a diverse client base with a
particular following of developer and high net worth clients.
Sewell has also been welcomed to the partnership, having been
appointed as director of risk and compliance in May
2017.
The dispute resolution department will be reinforced with the
promotion of Nick Grant as an associate in the privacy and media
team. Having joined Payne Hicks Beach in 2017, Grant has
developed his specialisms in defamation and media law, where his
expertise is particularly sought after on matters relating to the
publication of defamatory allegations across all forms of
media.
Additionally, Katie Parkes has been made an associate in the
firm’s family department. Her expertise spans all areas of
private family law, including financial remedies, pre and
post-nuptial agreements, in addition to child arrangements. She
often advises on cases with complex financial and international
aspects.
Tritax
Tritax, a property
investment fund management house, has appointed Alasdair Evans as
chief financial officer of Tritax Group, which acts as the fund
manager to the listed Tritax Big Box REIT and Tritax EuroBox
plc.
Evans has more than 35 years of experience in finance, 20 years of which have been in senior finance roles in real estate. Most recently, Evans advised Altitude Real Estate and Get Living London (2017-2018). Previous roles include: chief financial officer of United House Developments (2014-2016); finance director of IPD (2010-2013); acting joint CEO (2007-2010) following corporate finance director and COO (2003-2007) of Hermes Real Estate. He started his career at Coopers & Lybrand (now PwC) in London where he qualified and was a senior manager when he left in 1997.
Tilney
Tilney, the UK wealth
management house, has appointed Jacqueline Morton as a financial
planner to join its Edinburgh-based team.
Morton previously worked at Investec Wealth & Investment. She had worked there from 2011, most recently as business development director. Prior to this, Morton was a business consultant in the Edinburgh area for Old Mutual.
Lockhart Capital Management
William Thomson has been named director of financial planning at
Lockhart
Capital Management to help provide more tailored advice to
high net worth clients. He will be based in the group’s Cobham
office in Surrey and cover all aspects of financial planning and
wealth management, with a focus on estate planning and
intergenerational wealth, the firm said. Prior to joining
Lockhart, Thomson was a partner at Tilney, managing a team in its
London office.
Pershing
BNY Mellon’s Pershing, which works with wealth managers and other
parts of the financial services sector, has appointed two new
business development directors, Helen Oxley and Andrew Duffin.
The duo are based in London.
Duffin, who was most recently head of sales and relationship
management, UK and Ireland at Société Genérale Securities
Services, brings 30 years’ experience in post-trade industry.
Oxley joins from SEI Investments Company where she was director,
head of solutions for the firms’ wealth platform - managing
solution design across front and back office, digital and
regulatory services. She brings over 22 years’ financial services
and business development experience.
Pershing said its
assets under custody have grown by 36 per cent over the past
three years and its clearing volumes have risen by 18 per cent
since 2017.
Brewin Dolphin
Wealth manager Brewin Dolphin’s Jersey office has appointed Gary
Le Quesne as a divisional director in its investment management
business.
Prior to this, Le Quesne was managing director at Aberdeen
Private Wealth Management, where he was also an investment
director responsible for the company’s portfolio management desk.
He has also worked in investment management roles at Matheson
Investments CI Limited (now Canaccord Genuity) and Mercury Asset
Management, Brewin Dolphin said
in a statement.
Le Quesne has worked in the wealth management space for more than
20 years. He is a Chartered Fellow of the Securities & Investment
Institute, having completed the MSI diploma, and has also passed
the Investment Management Certificate (IMC).
