Legal & General Investment Management has hired James
Crossley as head of UK retail sales. Crossley joins from
Jupiter where he was head of retail sales overseeing the UK
retail distribution and the retail sales team.
Simon Hynes, who has been at LGIM since 2015, has recently moved
to the newly-created role of head of retail distribution, Europe,
Middle East and Africa. He will focus on building LGIM’s
wholesale distribution operation across Europe and growing LGIM’s
exchange-traded funds business, following the acquisition of the
Canvas ETF platform earlier this year.
Both Crossley and Hynes report to Honor Solomon, the firm’s head
of retail, EMEA.
Gary Walker & Co Wealth Management
UK-based
Gary Walker & Co Wealth Management, an affiliated firm of St
James’s Place Wealth Management, has created four new roles in a
bid to expand its operation.
The firm has appointed Susan Barclay as practice manager,
Julia Catto as events and marketing executive, Kieran Taylor as a
financial consultant and Madelynne Stephen as financial
administrator. Further additional positions are in the pipeline
as the firm is also recruiting for experienced chartered
paraplanners.
Barclay recently graduated from Robert Gordon University with a
bachelor’s degree in business management and has 16 years of
experience as a business manager and management roles within
private and charitable organisations.
Catto will lead the practice’s marketing strategy and initiatives
to enhance brand awareness. She previously worked at Murrayfield
Stadium, The Speratus Group, Culture Perth and Kinross and
Harbro.
Taylor is a graduate of the St. James’s Place Academy. He
previously ran his own consultancy and has been invited to join
the firm to deliver a range of financial planning services.
Stephen will provide support to the financial consultants and
paraplanners. She has experience of working as an executive
assistant.

UK financial services group Smith &
Williamson has appointed Paul de la Salle as an associate
director in its sports, media and entertainment team.
de la Salle joins the London office from Arena Wealth Partners,
where he spent nearly five years advising sports, media and
entertainment professionals on a range of financial issues
including banking, financial planning, FX, home finance,
investment, pensions and tax. He also spent 11 years at Barclays
Wealth Management where, he headed up the football team and
specialised in providing expert private banking services.
Smith & Williamson’s sports, media and entertainment group works
with a wide range of athletes, executives, clubs, organisations
and governing bodies.
