The latest senior moves in wealth management and legal services from across Europe and the UK.

Finlight.com
European business Finlight.com, a digital platform built by family office and institutional asset management experts, has appointed Adam Denning, a 25-year Microsoft veteran as a non-executive director.

At Microsoft, Denning reported to the corporate VP of the Windows platform, leading an international team of over 100 people and executing updates to Windows to deliver new customers. Before then, from 1999-2001, he served as an assistant technical advisor to the executive office. His field of expertise includes product management; technical strategy and software delivery.

“We are at a critical moment of business growth and we believe ourselves to be well-positioned, particularly at this moment of crisis, to help family offices and wealth managers upgrade their operational processes and embrace digital technologies,” J-B Tanqueray, co-founder at Finlight, said.

Finlight was launched in 2016. WealthBriefing interviewed Tanquerary about the business last year.

Starting on 1 May, Charles Russell Speechlys has promoted four lawyers to partner level. In other moves, eight were promoted to legal director, and 17 to senior associate.

The newly promoted partners are Oliver Auld in private wealth disputes; Helen Coward in corporate tax; and Eddie Richards and Alexander Gold in real estate.
Managing partner Simon Ridpath, said the promotions reflected a renewed focus on “strengthening core areas of our business, even as we weather these challenging times.”

The announcements follow Jason Freedman becoming a partner in corporate restructuring and insolvency, and Charlotte Duly becoming the legal director and head of brand protection in the intellectual property team. The law firm works with clients in the UK and internationally, with lawyers based in 11 locations across the UK, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

Auld, who joined the firm as a trainee, qualifying in 2009, acts for clients in multi-jurisdictional disputes involving inherited wealth held in English and offshore family trusts. Coward, who joined in 2016, focuses on owner-managed business taxation. In real estate, Richards joined as a trainee in 2008; he advises on a range of landlord and tenant issues in the retail and leisure sectors. Gold, who focuses on commercial property, joined in 2015.

Mirabaud
Mirabaud Asset Management, the investment arm of Switzerland’s Mirabaud, has appointed  Ozan Kazim to join its UK wholesale team.

Kazim joins from Slater Investments, where he was head of distribution for the past five years. Prior to that he was a private client broker from 2009.

The MAM team is led by managers Anu Narula and Paul Middleton. The firm said that its UK equity and fixed income capabilities are seeing “heightened UK wholesale investor interest”.
