Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? – PIMFA, Moonfare

The latest moves and appointments in wealth management in the UK, the rest of Europe, the Middle East and other select locations.

PIMFA
PIMFA, the UK trade association for wealth management, investment services and the personal investment and financial advice industry, has appointed David Ostojitsch as director of government relations and policy.

Ostojitsch previously worked at the Capital Markets Company (Capco), where he was managing principal for capital markets regulation and technology. He has served in numerous roles in financial services during his 17-year career, including four years at the Association for Financial Markets in Europe (AFME), where he was director of EU and global technology and operations regulatory affairs.

The previous postholder at PIMFA was Tim Fassam, who left the organisation in August to join the Phoenix Group.

In his new role, Ostojitsch reports to PIMFA chief executive Liz Field.

Moonfare
Germany-based Moonfare, the digital private equity platform, has appointed senior fintech figure Jon Kalamuddin to join its global advisory board.

Kalamuddin has been chairman of European fintech, Klarna, and has worked at firms such as ASOS and FarFetch.

Separately, Moonfare has also added Sanjay Gupta and Russell Lane to its investment team.

Gupta brings decades of private equity investing experience to his new role as head of co-investments. Before joining Moonfare, Gupta was head of private equity investing at Union Bancaire Privée in London. He has also worked in senior investment roles at Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec and Adveq (now Schroders Capital), as well as an investment banking role with Lehman Brothers.

Lane, who will be based in New York, is joining as head of GP Solutions, bringing Moonfare’s distribution capabilities and fully-digitised investor platform to more GPs globally. Lane is joining from asset management firm Bridgewater Associates, where he was a founding member of the firm’s distribution team and led the new product development and product management functions. Prior to this, he served in investor relations and business development roles, covering US and European institutional clients. Before joining Bridgewater, Lane was an equity research analyst at Credit Suisse in New York.
