Waverton Poaches Cabinet Office Commercial Specialist For COO Role
This is a newly-created role in the London-headquartered firm.
Waverton
Investment Management, a UK firm, has hired Mark Harrison,
previously of the Cabinet Office in the UK civil service, as its
chief operating officer.
Harrison was a senior commercial specialist at the Cabinet
Office, responsible for the relationship with a major government
supplier. He has over 30 years’ financial services
experience in executive management, consultancy and advisory
roles, specialising in IT, operations and change
management. Harrison began his career at Andersen Consulting
and he has since held senior executive positions at
PricewaterhouseCoopers, BNP Paribas, JP Morgan Cazenove,
investment management firm AMP and EFG Bank. He has also worked
in an advisory capacity for the Bank of England, fund manager QIC
in Australia and Hermes Investment Management.
As COO, Harrison will drive the development of Waverton’s
operating and client servicing capability.
“He is unquestionably one of the most experienced practitioners
in the industry. He will be an invaluable asset for Waverton and
will play an important role in supporting the continued growth of
the business,” said Andrew Fleming, chief executive at
Waverton.
Waverton had approximately £5.1 billion ($6.3 billion) of assets
under management as at 31 December 2016.
