Wachovia Wealth Management, part of US-listed banking group Wachovia, said it has appointed Thomas Beames as its regional director of Richmond Wealth Management Private Banking team in Virginia.

Mr Beames has been affiliated with Wachovia and its predecessors for more than two decades, most recently as senior vice president and regional managing director of Florida’s Wachovia Trust and Investment Advisory Services.

In his new role, Mr Beames will head up a team more than 50 staff.
