UK Private Investment Office Poaches Barclays Wealth Duo

London-based Lincoln has boosted its team with further appointments from Barclays Wealth.

Lincoln Private Investment Office has hired Ben Stern and Stephen Kattou from Barclays Wealth.

Stern and Kattou join the London team as partner and advisor respectively. Stern was previously senior director at Barclays Wealth. He was also a member of Barclays' UK investment committee, having spent the early part of his career in the bank's wealth advisory business focusing on inter-generational planning.

Kattou joins from his position as private banker at Barclays Wealth where he was responsible for a high net worth client base in the UK. Over the last seven years, he has worked with entrepreneurs and family business owners. In his new role, Kattou will advise Lincoln's private clients, while enhancing its advisory investment proposition.

Lincoln was set up late last year by founding partners Ross Elder, Fred Hervey and Becky Robbins. Elder and Hervey were co-heads at Berenberg Private Bank, having previously headed up teams at Barclays Wealth. Prior to Lincoln, Robbins served as head of operations at Berenberg. The firm welcomed Chris Rowell, also formerly of Barclays Wealth, as a partner in December.

“We have established Lincoln as a powerful new force in the UK wealth management sector and have brought a fresh and attractive approach to the market, the Private Investment Office,” said Elder.

“Ben and Stephen were attracted by our differentiated approach and bring with them industry-leading expertise that we are confident will help drive forward our commercial aims.”

Lincoln’s shareholders are all clients. While not all clients have to be shareholders, each client has an opportunity to become one, the company stated.
