Arbuthnot Latham & Co, the UK-based private bank, has appointed Dan Saxby as director, private banking, recruiting him from Coutts, where he had been an executive director and wealth manager.

Saxby will focus on the City’s high net worth individuals, working with clients in the legal, accountancy and financial services professions. He has been working with such clients throughout his 24-year career and has built up an impressive client base of professionals, Arbuthnot said in a statement.

Saxby’s hire continues a run of appointments at Arbuthnot in recent months. At the start of January the bank brought on board Ian Avery as a chartered wealth planner, recruiting him from Shipman Financial Planning. Previously, in December Arbuthonot bolstered its Exeter branch with the addition of senior private banker Martyn Elliott-Cannon. Elliott-Cannon was previously a private banker at Coutts.

Back in September former Coutts senior manager Liz Bottomley was given the role of head of private banking, while the same month saw Linda Amili Clack appointed to the new position of international banking director, head of Middle East private banking. Clack was formerly head of Mubarakia Limited Family Office.
