UK Asset Manager Makes Hire For Emerging Market Investment Expansion

London-based Insparo Asset Management has hired Cian Walsh as the firm attempts to make a push into emerging markets investment.

Walsh joins as a senior portfolio manager to oversee the launch of a new emerging markets fund expected later this year. The firm’s investment team is led by Mohammed Hanif, chief investment officer. Insparo has thus far had a greater focus on frontier markets.

Walsh was latterly at BlueBay Asset Management, where he sat on the investment committee and worked in the emerging markets team for eight years. He began his career as an emerging markets strategist at Dresdner Kleinwort Benson in London; after that he spent two years as portfolio manager at Standard Asset Management.
