Baillie Gifford, the Edinburgh-based investment partnership, has appointed Chris Whittingslow as regional sales manager, responsible for southern Wales, Channel Islands and southwestern regions.

Whittingslow, with 25 years’ experience in the financial sector, was latterly managing director, investment companies sales at Cantor Fitzgerald Europe. Before that, he was head of sales for investment trusts at Collins Stewart.

In other recent developments, at the end of January Baillie Gifford hired Tom Walsh as deputy manager for the Monks Investment Trust, a vehicle overseen by the firm.
