UBS Wealth Management Poaches Merrill Exec For Park Avenue Branch
UBS Wealth Management Americas has hired Barry Mitchell as senior vice president for investments.
Mitchell joins from Merrill Lynch where he was first vice president, investments. At Merrill he had $290 million in assets under management and had a T12 of $1.9 million. At UBS, he reports to Dan Shepler, branch manager of the Park Avenue office in New York.
The appointment follows the hire of Arthur Polner from Morgan Stanley as SVP, investments for the Boulder branch and Jesse Rodriguez from Merrill Lynch as SVP for Newport Beach. The company also brought in the $1.7 billion advisory team Desai Group, composed of Ajay Desai, John Staab and Frank Pellicori, from Morgan Stanley in early November.
