UBS Names Co-Managers For New York Office

Mara Glassel and Scott Hallman have been named co-managers at one of UBS’s largest New York-area offices, overseeing 95 financial advisors, Reuters reports.

The move is a first for the Swiss bank’s wealth management division, Chris Amo, UBS regional director for the New York metro area told the news agency.

"There's been a trend in the industry to cut management at the local level," Amo said. "We know that advisors need more help with clients and growing their business."

Glassel was head of national sales for UBS Wealth Management Americas, and Hallman joined UBS in 2005 from Morgan Stanley.

Glassel and Hallman are replacing Amo, who was promoted to regional manager as part of UBS Wealth Management head Robert McCann's management shake-up earlier this year.

Hallman told Reuters that he and Glassel want to expand the office and are likely to hire five more advisors within the next three months.
